Hi, I’m Leticia Dreier
Registered Nutritional Therapist & Functional Medicine Health Coach DipION rCNHC mBANT
My mission is to help individuals get to the root cause of their symptoms and restore health using a combination of nutrition and life-style medicine, including comprehensive lab testing. I have a special interest in female hormonal and gut health, helping clients boost energy levels, lose weight, and feel energised to live a full vibrant life. You can read more about my approach here.
My own health journey, over the years, has shown me that the nutritional therapy approach to health and wellbeing can go a step further when it comes to a wide range of ailments and conditions. It inspired me to retrain as a nutritional therapist, as I was able to transform my health by taking control, using healing foods, supplements and lifestyle changes.
Although I appreciate the acute care I have received over the years from numerous doctors, conventional medicine failed to find solutions for some chronic issues I was struggling with. It was only when I started working with a nutritional therapist that I had a better understanding of what the root causes were, and how I could improve my symptoms and prevent further decline. I felt relieved and empowered to finally have some more answers and simple tools to improve my health.

My tests came back ‘normal’ but I still felt horrible
In my early 30’s I was frequently feeling cold and tired. My GP ordered blood tests, which came back as ‘normal’, but my symptoms continued.
Eventually, I consulted a nutritional therapist, who was able to look at my test results from a different perspective. She pointed out that my thyroid stimulating hormone levels, even though ‘within range’ were very close to the lower end. She also undertook further private testing, which they don’t do in the NHS, which showed my active thyroid hormone levels were low.
In the short-term, I managed to convince my GP to prescribe a low dose thyroxine, which did the trick. In the longer-term, my nutritionist helped restore my optimal thyroid health and I was able to stop the medication.
Finding the root cause and breaking the cycle
Over the years, I had also suffered with chronic bladder infections and the GP’s solution was to prescribe antibiotics, every time. Whilst the antibiotics gave me temporary relief, the bladder infections kept returning. I was in pain all the time and it was dominating my life. My nutritionist pointed out that the antibiotics had gradually been depleting my natural immunity, by negatively impacting my gut health. Through digestive support, she managed to help me break the cycle.
Around the same time, I started to develop a persistent, tickly cough. I was given the usual investigations; chest x-ray, blood tests, all ‘normal’. So that was that. Eventually, a potential link was made to acid reflux and I was offered antacid medications - standard treatment. However, I learned that antacids suppress the production of stomach acid, failing to address the underlying cause. Potentially, I could have been on this medication indefinitely, on ever increasing doses, meanwhile my symptoms progressively worsened.
Once again, I took a different direction. Through functional testing, I discovered I had small intestinal bacterial overgrowth and, through temporary dietary restrictions, the use of herbal antimicrobials, and life-style changes, my symptoms subsided.
My Qualifications
Inspired by the power of nutrition, I was set on a path to a new career in nutritional therapy, passionate about helping others find answers with their health issues. I embarked on a four-year course at the Institute of Optimum Nutrition, from where I graduated, with Distinction, to become a qualified Nutritional Therapist, specialising in helping individuals manage digestive issues, autoimmune and thyroid conditions, weight challenges.
I am registered with both the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT), the professional body for Registered Nutritional Therapists, and Complementary and Natural Health Council (CHNC). I regularly attend continuing professional development training to keep up to date with the most current research in the field of nutrition.
I still continue to be amazed in my daily clinical practice by the impact even the smallest changes in dietary and life-style habits can make on good health and recovery.
It can be truly life-changing and I’m excited to be able to share my knowledge with others.
